Cardio versus Weights?

Have you ever been to the gym and watched people spend an hour on a cardio machine?
I’ve gone to the gym, completed my work out, and as I leave, see some of the same people that were doing cardio when I arrived, still on the same machine. In essence, they have been doing cardio exercises for nearly an hour.
I think, “WOW, THEY MUST BE IN INCREDIBLE SHAPE!”
THE REALITY: They don’t seem to have a toned or muscular body.
Some actually look quite out of shape based on their body shape.
I am not being judgmental but am merely pointing out that CARDIO IS NOT THE ANSWER to transforming our bodies.
CARDIO EQUALS HEALTHY HEART => The more fit our heart is, the higher the intensity needed to continue to burn the same number of calories.
So if our goal is to LOSE WEIGHT and BURN MORE CALORIES we will have to INCREASE the length of TIME we spend on a CARDIO machine.
Since our TIME IS VALUABLE, MORE TIME in the gym is NOT what we desire.
So, is there a better way to lose weight and improve our body physique? ABSOLUTELY!
If we want to change our bodies, we need to change our lean-mass to body-fat ratio.
Cardio does nothing to maintain or build muscle or change our body shape. While maybe we will lose some weight, our body shape will still be the same, but just a little smaller.
If our goal is to go from a big pear shape to a small pear shape, cardio is the answer.
If our goal is to get rid of our pear shape, STRENGTH TRAINING IS THE ANSWER!
STRENGTH TRAINING is the ANSWER to changing our body composition, including…
- THE LOOK
- THE SHAPE
- THE SIZE
…of our body.
Incorporating the best exercises and healthy eating habits will help us to build lean muscles and create a WHOLE NEW BODY!
